Online psychiatric visits can be just as personal as in-person care. Here’s what to expect, what you’ll need and how prescriptions work.

Care from wherever you are in the state

Telehealth lets you meet with a psychiatric provider by secure video from home, work or anywhere private. You’ll need to be physically in California during each visit.

What you’ll need

A phone, tablet or computer with a camera, a steady internet connection and a quiet, private space. Headphones help. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

What visits are like

Your first visit is a full evaluation of your history, symptoms and goals. Follow-ups focus on how you’re doing, adjusting your plan and, if it fits, therapy built into the visit.

Prescriptions and insurance

Prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy you choose. Some medications, like stimulants, have extra federal rules for telehealth prescribing, and we’ll explain what applies to you. Most plans cover telehealth visits like in-person visits, and we’ll check your benefits.

Getting started

Wellthy Psychiatry sees patients by telehealth across California, with evening and Saturday hours. Book a free 15-minute phone consult to see if we’re a fit.
