Many adults in California are seeking ADHD evaluations for the first time, often after years of feeling scattered, behind or exhausted from compensating. A thorough private evaluation can give you clarity and a plan.
What a good ADHD evaluation includes
A detailed history of symptoms from childhood through today.
Validated rating scales and questionnaires.
Screening for conditions that can look like ADHD, such as anxiety, depression, sleep problems or trauma.
A review of how symptoms affect work, relationships and daily life.
An objective computer-based test when helpful.
Objective testing with QbCheck
Wellthy Psychiatry offers QbCheck, an FDA-cleared, computer-based test that measures attention, impulsivity and activity. It adds objective data to your clinical evaluation, which can be especially helpful when symptoms are hard to pin down.
After the evaluation
If ADHD is diagnosed, treatment can include medication, skills coaching, therapy and lifestyle support. In California, psychiatric nurse practitioners can evaluate and treat ADHD, including prescribing medication when it’s a good fit. You need to be located in California at the time of each telehealth visit.
Current self-pay rates, testing costs and policies are listed on our fees and policies page. Self-pay clients receive a Good Faith Estimate when scheduling.
